The Elastic Bond at The Lounge at Norman’s 180 this Friday night!

Voted Best Funky Fusion Band in the “Best of 2007” by the Miami New Times, and “Band of the Hour” by the Miami Herald in 2009, 944 Magazine Buzz Picks 2010. Having shared the stage with SI*SE, Amigos Invisibles, Locos por Juana, Dave Valentin, amongst others while publishing their first album “MADRUGADA” in places like Germany, this Miami band earns instant love amongst the crowds after each performance. Their live show is guaranteed to be a real highlight with a 6 piece ensemble that includes a horn section and percussion.

Norman’s 180

Legendary chef Norman Van Aken is known internationally as “the founding father of New World Cuisine”; a celebration of Latin, Caribbean, Asian, African and American flavors. He also is the person who brought the term “Fusion Cooking” to the planet in a speech he delivered in Santa Fe in 1988.

He is the only Floridian inducted into the prestigious “James Beard list of ‘Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America”. He is the winner of the James Beard Award, ‘Best Chef in the Southeast’. The New York Times deemed “Norman’s”, “the Best Restaurant in Florida and Norman Van Aken its best Chef”. The Beard Foundation nominated “Norman’s” as “The Best Restaurant in America. He has been hailed as a “culinary genius” by Johnson and Wales University and given an honorary doctorate.

“The Art of Nightlife” elevates Downtown Miami.

Coming soon to the heart of downtown Miami is an 8,000 plus Square foot venue located in what used to be the Meyer Kiser Bank during the 1930’s, located in the historic Dade Commonwealth Building.

The BANK will be home to many local, National and International artists, interior decorators & DJ’s.

The BANK’s flexibility makes it an ideal space for corporate and private events, easily accommodating banquets, live music, fashion shows, and corporate presentations.

As you walk into The BANK you will an elongated passageway leading to the main Vault room, exhibiting all forms of magnificent artwork available for purchase by any patron. The BANK will continuously mesmerize guests long after their first visit as the artwork and the artists providing art revolve periodically.

Upon entering into the main “Vault Room” your eyes will immediately catch the originality of The Safe. Its large robust columns lining the dance floor will lead you to the lounge’s most inspiring feature; the 30 ton, 90 year old, functional, bank vault!

The vault is protected by a custom made bar. Patrons will quickly fall into a musical rhythm while appreciating the world-class audio system which engulfs you with thunderous yet warm sounds played by top, worldly, local and International dj’s as well as live bands.

Several of Miami’s finest interior designers have united to display their talents by providing the multi, seating, VIP sections with a tangible wonderland of luscious fabrics, impressive decor, and custom designed furniture.

The artistry continues as Miami’s best outdoor creators style the narrow outdoor venue (Lotus Garden) with plush bungalows & pleasant décor. Guests will enjoy lounge style music while sipping on signature punch bowls.

Finally a walk up the unique stairwell will guide you to the “Capone Room”, named after the infamous Al Capone, who once made frequent deposits downstairs. This room compliments the guests that want to feel cozy in a space with a darkened feel, cherry wood and period furniture.
